1929 Ford Roadster Pickup

  • Fully restored inside and out, nuts and bolts restoration of a 1929 Ford Roadster Pickup; built in the Pre-war traditional style. It doesn’t get more traditional than this. Every part has been rebuilt, replaced, or upgraded.

  • Engine - 4 Banger Model A - Built by H&H Antique Ford Engine Rebuilding, La Crescent, California to “Touring Specifications”

    New H-Beam Rods

    • Fully inserted mains

    • Counterweighted crankshaft fit with rear main seal

    • Sleeved to std

    • Straight valve conversion w/ 1-3/4 in. intake valves and 1-9/16 in. exhaust

    • 8 hardened valve seats intake I.D. to 1.500

    • M-13 touring grind on camshaft

    • Billet aluminum timing gear

    • New high compression 7:1 Thomas finned aluminum cylinder head polished

    • Finned aluminum side cover - polished

    • New “leafless” water pump

    • Ironite high temp sealing and pressure test

    • New stock style oil pump - check valve 50lbs, fit with bushing to encapsulate oil, enlarged inlet and outlet

    • New Mallory single point distributor

    • New spark plug wires - red

    • One piece crank pulley with left hand thread

    • Complete gasket set with copper head gasket

    • All new stud, nut and bolt set - chrome acorn nuts on head

    • Completely painted to MAFC judging standards

    Exhaust System

    • 1-5/8 in. flathead tube header - jet coated silver

    • New 1-5/8 in. exhaust pipes with single “Smitty” muffler

    Fuel System

    • Dual “original” Stromberg 97 carburetors with inline fuel valves and adjustable linkage

    • Vintage “Thomas” dual intake downdraft manifold-cast aluminum polished

    • Holly 12V electric fuel pump

    • Mallory low-pressure (1-4lb) fuel regulator-chrome

    • Vintage metal 2-port fuel block-cast aluminum finned polish

    • Gas tank stock, cleaned and pressure tested with new shutoff Petcock valve

    Rear End

    • Stock model “A” housing and tubes-powder coated

    • Completely new bearings

    • Stock model “A” axles

    • Quick change “Dummy”- cast aluminum polished

    • Ring and pinion gears set up to 3:54

    • New axle seals

    • Lucas gear oil in case

    Drive Line

    • Stock Model “A” toploader transmission rebuilt with synchronized 2nd and 3rd gears

    • Cut down balanced flywheel - lightened, 20lbs removed, resurfaced, balanced, new ring gear exchanged and new 9 in/3 finger cover

    • New clutch disc-sure grip lighting

    • Stock Model “A” torque tube

    • Lucas gear oil in case

    Steering System

    • Ford F-1 steering box

    • 29 Ford upper steering shaft shortened 2 inches

    • Steering wheel vintage sprint car type 4-stroke 24 inch with stock headlight with and horn

    • Stock steering column drop

    Brake System

    • Early juice-40-48 Ford backing plates and drums-powdered coated

    • Master cylinder-19

    • Peddle assembly stock adapted to master cylinder setup - hard lines and fittings like 1940

    • Vintage brake scoops on backing planted - cast aluminum finned polished and painted

    Frame and Suspension

    • Stock frame - powder coated

    • Super bell front axle - 4inch top - powder coated

    • F-1 Ford shock mounts with shocks-chrome

    • Front spring - Posie’s mono-leaf

    • Rear spring-stock Model “A” with reversed eyes and de-arched by Deaver Spring, Santa Ana, CA

    • 1935-1936 Ford 16-inch wire wheels

    • 500/525-16-inch Firestone bias ply blackwall tires with tubes-front.

    • 700-16-inch Firestone bias ply blackwall tires with tubes-rear

    Emergency Brake System

    • Stock Model “A”

    • Custom linkage from e-brake handle

    • Stock early Ford juice brake cable driven emergency brakes

    Electrical System

    • 12 volt foreign one wire alternator - 74 amps

    • Custom alternator bracket and pulley - machine aluminum polished
